Oscar Hunt (b. 2004) is an artist based in Kansas City, whose visual practice exists as a dialogue among popular and artistic culture, the internet, and accumulated rituals and obsessions.
His practice is rooted in an investigation of real experience and its relationship with fabrication. ‘Fabricated’ refers to constructed, whether that be a complex in the mind, a video game, or an actual wall. How can the grid of human construction be reflective or obtrusive? In what ways can impersonal gestures become abstractions of our lives?
